Spennende ny forskning fra Karolinska

Just wanted to update you about a recent publication from my lab. We have identified another therapeutic agent which promotes healing of nerves in the Central Nervous System (so-called remyelination). We were even featured on the front cover of the journal. The agent is a natural material contained in chilli peppers (capsaicin), so another good reason to eat spicy food. We will of course now test this in our ALS mice (but those are experiments take more than a year-and-a-half). Slowly but surely, we start to build up a panel of agents that when combined will surely have both good therapeutic and regenerative effects. It's exciting to be a scientist, and a good way to honour the memory of Pål and all others who have succumbed to ALS.

Cheers.
